Using gravimetric methods, the corrosion behavior of this steel is determined in natural urban-industrial and marine-industrial environments, and in accelerated climatic tests, in order to determine the effects due to loss of thickness and variation in apparent surface roughness.A 23 factorial experimental design was carried out to evaluate the incidence of time, temperature and relative humidity on performance variables such as surface roughness and corrosion rate. The results show the influence of exposure time and relative humidity on the corrosion rate, and their interaction on surface roughness. Using optical microscopy techniques, the existence of defects on the exposed surface is corroborated. Corrosion rate graphs are obtained as a function of exposure time in different environments. It is evident that the evaluated steel suffers corrosion in exposed environments and during storage, where corrosion progresses continuously for 25 days. ER -
