Abstract

The main objective of the present work is to base the routes to increase the cobalt extraction without expossing the nickel one in Caron leaching Process. In order to reach it, the causes of losses of Ni and Co by the passivity of the ferro-alloys with Ni and Co in the reduced ore were analyzed, based on the scientific and technological results of Cuban and foreign researchers, validated by the industrial practice. In the work, the factors of all types of Co and Ni losses interrelate to base the
main lines of improvement of the leaching operation on the two Cuban plants of integral form, analyzing them as a formed system, also for the operations of: reduction, absorption of the CO2 and NH3 to produce fresh liquor, and by the precipitation of Co-sulphide. The risks of the technological transference of Tocantins turbo-mixer were evaluated for Punta Gorda Plant. In this work 17 bibliographical references were mentioned.
