Abstract

The construction of the plant for the obtaining of basic oils starting from Cuban petroleums of the Central Area of the country in the Sergio Soto refinery is materialized as last step in the works of investigation development executed in the decade of the years 80 in CEINPET.This investigation demonstrated the feasibility of obtaining transformer oils by means of the technology acid-alkaliearth fuller without requiring of the desparaphination process given the naphtenic aromatic
nature of this petroleums. In this paper show up the results regarding the quality of the transformer oil taken place starting from that feed, as well as, the use for the first time of the advanced electrochemical techniques as approach of quality of this last one. The transformer oil was evaluated in CEINPET and in an international laboratory credited by the norms for that uses. The oil presents visual appearance of clear brilliant yellow color without mechanical sludges. It doesn't present acidity and present high stability to the oxidation for rotational bomb what
indicates a long period of life in service. It possesses appropriate dielectrics properties what allows its employment in transformers of Distribution and Subtransmition up to 33 kV.
