Abstract

At the present time, the solid state fermentation constitutes a process that offers many advantages for the bioprocesses and products development, being the optimization of growth medium a
fundamental stage to reach successful results. In this work, it is analyzed the most recent information that has been published about this topic, and it is not enough wide in relation to the methods that should be used. In the reviewed articles,
it is pointed out that although the use of the statistics is increased in the design of the experiments and in the analysis of the results, the systemic focus isn¨t still generalized to guarantee the technical-economic feasibility.
