Tecnology for the Management of Alum of Chromium (III) and Potasium as Ceramic Pigment
Abstract
The lazy and expired reagents are among the dangerous waste generated in Cuba, some of which contain heavy metals. These substances accumulate without a final disposition, neither appropriate use, with the purpose of not contaminating the environment. In such a sense, the authors propose an alternative use for alum of chromium (III) and potassium, when transforming it into oxide by precipitation with alkalis to apply it as ceramic pigment. The present paper shows the use tests and the determination of purity by oxidation-reduction titration; giving it a final disposition without any environmental risk and with the additional creation of economic values starting from immobilized resources, bringing about the substitution of import pigments, which are quite expensive. This work is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial.
