Abstract

This paper contains the results of the rheology of water emulsions of Cuban crude petroleum PE and HE, employing emulsifier agent EM-10 prepared with pyrolysis products of sugar cane straw or bagasse In the same emulsion formulations were analyzed and determined t he rheological behavior to prepare, and then spend 24 hours standby. The investigation confirmed that the crude PE and HE remain a newtonian rheology with a viscosity of 33,104 Pa.s and 28,733 respectively, while all the emulsions were obtained with a pseudoplastic rheological behaviour, Lower values  of viscosities at 1 Pa.s, even after being reconstituted after 24 h of rest, with best results obtained in the two relationships that had 60% of the crude petroleum sed. The work confirmed that the emulsion prepared with emulsifier ying agent EM-10 presents the stability conditions for transport by pipeline, this emulsifier having a well highly effective when crude petroleum of viscosity between 28 and 33 Pa.s is used.
