Abstract

Today, seawater desalination is a viable alternative for use taking into account the decline in the price and scarcity of water, sea water desalination by inverses osmosis membranes is a process demanding mind some time to define the quality of feed water to the same, depending on the quality of water coming into the desalination plant will be the pretreatment. To carry out this work, we designed an experimental plan that includes taking seawater and its characterization, methods used for the analysis of sea water are based on the provisions in current regulations on water, then process is passed to the simulation of seawater pretreatment using a conventional mixed bed filter of sand and silica sand, then for micro and ultrafiltration  membranes. With the results obtained could say that pretreatment of seawater membrane technology is much more likely that pretreatment with conventional filters because the resulting water quality is much higher. Finally, we carried out the simulation process using the Software Rosa with which we can obtain from the characteristics
of sea water a design of what would be the passage through an inverses osmosis membrane and a comparison of the results Jibacoa to the plant belonging to tourism.
