Abstract

The present work is focussed to design an Environmental Management System based on the norm NC-ISO 14 001:2004 in the electrochemical plant Elpidio Sosa of Sagua la Grande city, Villa Clara province. A strategy is developing for the evaluation of environmental management level from principles, objectives and goals for a sure primary management of mercury solid wastes (mercurial wastes). The economic evaluation showed the feasibility of applying the Environmental Management System proposed with a Net Present Value (NPV) of $ 48 528, 34 an Internal Rate of Return (IRR)
of 49% and a payback period lower three years.
