Abstract

In Santiago from Cuba a new factory of cements will be built by what will be big the earth movements and mineral during the construction stages and exploitation of the same one. The constructive stage has a three year-old approximate duration and in its different phases they will move 650 000 earth m3 close, generating high levels of contamination for suspended particles. The study of the quality of the air in the construction area demonstrates that the hygienic quality of the air in the area lowers investigation is already polluted with suspended particles of powder, which are compound fundamentally for the metals heavy Fe, Co and Ni, although two non heavy metals are also presented (Mn and Si) in high concentrations. The allotment Abel Santamaría and the Cave of the majaes highlight for the levels of suspended powder particles as the polluted areas.
