In this work, the implementation of solar panels in the Villa Clara Dairy Products Company, UEB Sagua la Grande, is evaluated. Measurements of the structures were made and optimal orientations were chosen to improve performance. The free software of the European commission PVGIS was used to facilitate the study of the solar resource and photovoltaic potential. It is a very useful tool for carrying out feasibility studies of photovoltaic systems. With the performance analysis, an annual generation of 648.5 MWh is forecast. This approach is not only energy efficient, but environmentally significant, as it will avoid the emission of 9,453 tons of CO2, 53 tons of SO2 and 18 tons of NO2 into the atmosphere. In addition, it is highlighted that the project will contribute to saving the country 2,882 tons of fuel. These results underline the importance and potential of renewable energy, not only to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, but also to mitigate climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
