Abstract
The use of conceptual maps constitutes a valuable didactic tool, being able to apply in all the phases of the educative process; they have showed to be an effective instrument in learning and evaluation context. However, there are some issues to resolve to achieve the correct use of the concept maps, since many buildings tend to be more descriptive than explanatory. In order to facilitate the learning of chemistry in Chemical Engineering students, 3D conceptual maps were designed and constructed to overcome the deficiencies of inadequate connectors or excess of concepts in a 2D map. In order to facilitate the design of 3D maps, software was developed. The structures obtained for subjects of the course of Chemistry and the commentaries of the students about this software are presented.
