Abstract

This paper presents the results of recent research conducted at the University of Matanzas related to obtaining dimensionless model for determining the friction factor inside the pipes. The research consists of a regression analysis performed between the friction factor, Reynolds number and relative roughness, using for this purpose experimental data reported by various authors, establishing a comparison with the transcendental equation of Colebrook friction factor, the exact model knowledge obtained no significant differences due to the high similarity between the results obtained from these models in the studied range of operating parameters, although the divergence between experimental values and those obtained by the model proposed is slightly lower.
