Abstract

In the present work has been developed, step by step, the methodology for thermoeconomic calculation of the boiler # 3 located in petroleum’s power plant of refinery Hermanos Díaz, in
Santiago de Cuba city. This tool permits, according to the
hermodynamic, to compare the process quality steam production for two different periods of explotation machine (december 2004 and 2007), its measures correct and universally the quantity of exergy spent in the real process that the one that generates the consumption of resources
therefore, gives rise to the formation of costs associated of these. The general procedure of this application consists first, to realize the usual balance of mass and heat of the process than occurs in the machine, to the next to make the balance of availability of the energy (exergy) than they work out of those irreversibilities. The combination with economical concepts is produced when establishing the prices of available energy in all the energetic currents that interving in the process therefore, the economic value of the losses of availability in each evaluated period. The economic evaluation of every current of the system introduces a new possibility of analysis not
utilized until now and that consists in the economic appraisal of the value of energy not for the quantity, but for the availability of that energy.
