Abstract
The oxidative pyrolysis of carob sawdust , like one of the biomass that generate every year in big quantities constitute one of the process of research in develop product of the advantages that bring with it the thermo conversion of this residue in useful product with importance and diversesapplications. The research was realized using a new apparatus of fluidized bed, autothermic, particles of carob sawdust with less diameters of 4 mm were feeded continuously (10 kg/h) in
fluidized bed with air. The experiments were realized with three different air factor (FA): 0,4; 0,6; 0,8 (defined as ratio of actual air flow rate to stoichiometric air flow rate). The results indicate that (1) the carob sawdust can be pyrolysed in fluidized bed conditions where all the experiments liquids, gases and char, (2) the higher air factor promote high temperature and contribute to the secondary reactions, which lead to less liquid (3) the energy balance is very important in order to know the distribution of the energy in the installation during the thermoconversion process, (4) the characterization of the liquid products indicated that the air factor, in the range studied, does not have a notable influence in their properties.
