Abstract

This paper presents the results of selective extraction and leaching from the rubble of laterite, leaching agent applications: piroleñoso bagasse acid alone (APB), a mixture of APB and solution 1 mol/L sulfuric acid (AS). Leaching was conducted in the laboratory, the following conditions: temperature between 30 and 60 º C, liquid / solid: 8 and 12 mL / g ore, speed of agitation: 600 rpm, reaction time: 2 hours. Piroleñoso acted as the acid leach of metallic elements such as Ni, Co, Fe and Mn, low extraction. The combination of APB and AS, possible to increase the extraction of cobalt and manganese. The cobalt extraction with mixtures with 1 / 1 in volume of AS and APB was between 55 and 80%, and the manganese extraction was between 45 and 65 %, at very low levels of dilution of the ore (~ 1 to 2 %); released the same way preferential removal of iron with less than 20 %. It corroborated the selective nature of the acid piroleñoso, and this combined with the sulfuric acid solution of 1 mol / L in volumetric ratio 1 / 1, relating the extraction selectivity and the degree of dilution of the mineral leaching.
