Abstract

In this research article the necessary theoretical and practical elements for the application of the vortex movement to the pneumatic drying of the bagasse are presented with the objective of improving their characteristics as an important source of renewable energy, raw material and animal food. A synthesis of the theoretical analysis is presented for the mathematical model development starting from a physical model based on the interaction of the considered forces.
Then the construction of a laboratory scale model is described which defines the bases for the development of the modelation trough which the research process is simulated at different scales by the application of Likeness Theory and the results are compared with experimental mensurations related with pneumatic drying of the sugar cane bagasse reported in the literature as a result carried out by the Cuban Institute of Sugar Research(ICINAZ) during the investigations on Cuban dryers of 7 and 20 t per hour of capacity.
