Abstract

At the present time, there are a great number of industries that deliver their wastewaters at the environment, causing pollution of the superficial and underground waters. In the last years, anaerobic digestion technology has received attention as attractive alternative to wastewater treatment because it has advantages, since energetic and economic point of view. Our country has
many industries that generate wastewaters, which could be treated using anaerobic processes and for this reason, in this article it is made an analysis about the main environmental parameters and
biological assays, that should be applied to design and build anaerobic reactors successfully to the treatment of the industrial wastewaters.
