Abstract

The department began its study of production of activated carbon from biomass of coconut shell and then be used in environmental decontamination procedures. This paper aims determine the variation in concentration, the amount adsorbed and percentage of adsorption solutions when iron ions are treated activated carbon, with and without removing his ash and obtain statistically curves that reflect the dependence of the above factors over time. Among the methods employed were used for the activation of charcoal method known as "activity
with chemical leaching," this is divided into three stages: carbonization (pyrolysis), leaching and activation. The analyses were performed for the treatment of solutions containing ions Fe3+ with the activated carbon were: pH (method potentiometer), iron: determining mass iron adsorbed, quantity adsorbed, and adsorption % The results of the study showed that the activated carbon obtained with and without ash can adsorb this heavy metal of their solutions in terms of experimentation. We obtained the curves and models to best fit the behaviour of the data obtained among the main.conclusions
are that the study of adsorption ion Fe3+ with activated carbon from coconut shell in these working conditions showed that we can eliminate this heavy metal in their solutions.
