POSSIBLE APPLICATIONS OF PRACTICES CLEANER PRODUCTION IN BREWERY HATUEY

Abstract

The combined industrial Hatuey Brewery-Cuba Ron is the point source from land that contributes most to the organic load Santiago Bay (41,55 %) across the river Yarayó, according to studies by several researchers, and corroborated by specialists CITMA causing damages to the water quality of receiving bodies both. 5 alternatives are suggested for waste minimization which enable the recovery of 80,74 % of the residual liquid is poured into the bay via the river Yarayó and saving $ 31 984,48 a year for purchase of fuel and water. In addition to the strategy of prevention of environmental pollution greatly diminished the negative impacts caused by the dumping of waste, giving effect to one of the priority tasks in the territory, the abatement of Santiago Bay.
