Abstract

The work is part of the technology to obtain high quality products, starting from the mixed sulfides of Nickel and Cobalt which are obtained during the cobalt precipitation process in the leaching circuit (Caron process). The temperature, oxygen partial pressure and dissolution time influence were studied applying experimental design at laboratory scale. Oxygen pressurized was using as
agent oxidizer and water as solvent. In order to obtain solutions to be treated later by the Solvent Extraction technology, the maximums dissolution conditions of the mixed sulfides were studied at bank scale. The nickel and cobalt optimums dissolutions conditions were determinate being achieved efficiencies of 93.25% and 99.05% respectively.
