Abstract
The present work is to determine appropriate conditions for stability in direct water emulsions (O/W) Cuban crude oil with emulsifier P, (obtained from Bio-Oil) to facilitate its use in transport and handling thereof in which we used a highly viscous Newtonian oil (13 627 Pa.s a 30 ± 2 ° C). The study was conducted taking into account that the percent by weight of oil / (water + emulsifier) is 60 - 70 % of crude oil, 24 - 36 % water and between 4-6% of emulsifier. The total mass of each prepared emulsion was 150 g. With the help of STATISTICA 7 experimental design was conducted to determine the effect of the relationship Oil / (water + emulsifier) on the rheological behavior and stability of emulsions.
